This government building in Freedom Square, Kharviv, Ukraine, was bombed by a Russian missile on 1 March 2022. I painted this with an aching heart to reimagine a world of freedom and peace, and also as a tribute.

As I watched the Russian troops invade Ukraine I knew that I want to do something to help. My maternal great-grandparents immigrated to the US from Lviv, Ukraine, and I have always felt a strong affinity for the Ukranian people and culture. And now those people are being forced to flee their homes and are struggling to find even the most basic necessities for survival.

100% of the proceeds for this and my other pieces in my Ukranian series will be donated to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), a nobel-prize-winning charity based in Switzerland. They are working directly to support the Ukranian people with emergency food, water, hygiene and shelter.

Thank you for your support. <3
